Sting and Ice Dogs Complete Deal Sending Dan Sisca to Sarnia

Sarnia , ON – The Sarnia Sting and Mississauga Ice Dogs have completed a deal in which the Sting acquire overage forward Daniel Sisca from the Mississauga Ice Dogs in exchange for defenceman Anthony Butera, a 2nd round pick in the 2005 OHL priority selection as well as a conditional 6th round pick in 2004.

The conditional pick will be received by Mississauga shall the Sting make it into the 2nd round of playoffs this season.

Sisca, a Toronto native was third on the Ice Dogs in scoring last season with a career high 79 points. In Sisca the Sting acquire a centre with over 200 games experience in the league entering his fifth season.

Sting GM Terry Doran feels the time is now for the Sting and the acquisition of Sisca will be a good fit. “Just making the playoffs this year wont be good enough. Based on the strides we made last year and with so many key players returning we feel the time is now for this hockey club. We have brought in an overage defenceman (Travis Chapman) and now with the addition of Daniel we feel we are sending a message that the time is now.”
